Nonna Concetta era una donna speciale.
Nata del 1906, scampata alla nascita al terremoto di Messina, ha vissuto due guerre, Rimasta vedova a ventotto anni, ha cresciuto due figlie con le sue uniche forze, senza chiedere mai aiuti a nessuno. È stata una donna esemplare, mai adirata o nervosa, una grande forza interiore, sempre con un dolce sorriso, una nonna pronta a sostenerti ma sempre silenziosa e discreta.
Non ha mai messo un filo di trucco, ma era bellissima e la sua pelle è rimasta liscia come il velluto. Capelli lunghissimi che intrecciava nel suo chignon. È morta a 96 anni nel 2002, spegnendosi serenamente e lasciando nel cuore di chi l’ha conosciuta la certezza che la vita va vissuta con gioia fino all’ultimo respiro.

Nonna Concetta was a special woman. Born in 1906, she escaped the Messina earthquake at birth and lived through two wars. Widowed at the age of twenty-eight, she raised two daughters with her only strength, without ever asking anyone for help. She was an exemplary woman, never angry or nervous, a great inner strength, always with a sweet smile, a grandmother ready to support you but always silent and discreet. She never wore a thread of makeup, but she was beautiful and her skin remained as smooth as velvet. Very long hair that she braided into her chignon. She died at the age of 96 in 2002, passing away peacefully and leaving in the hearts of those who knew her the certainty that life should be lived with joy until the last breath.
